Delete your account

You can ask OmnisAI to delete your MatterChat account, or only some of your data. This page explains how to ask, what we delete, and what your firm keeps as its own records. It applies to the MatterChat apps and to app.matterchat.com.

How to ask

In the app: choose Delete my account in your MatterChat settings. It brings you to this page.

By email: write to privacy@omnisai.io from the email address you sign in with. Tell us your name, the firm you belong to, and whether you want your whole account deleted or only some of your data. We may ask you to confirm the request before we act on it.

What we delete

• Your sign-in account.
• Your profile: your name, photo, and the details you added about yourself.
• Your lawyer card and your listing in the lawyer directory.
• Your Brain Dump notes.
• Your Content Vault items, with any video or audio saved for them.
• The devices registered to receive your notifications.

Your MatterChat sign-in is an Omnis account. If you also use it to sign in to other OmnisAI products, deleting it closes it for those products too, so tell us if that is not what you want.

What your firm keeps

Messages and files you posted in your firm's rooms, and in conversations with other firms, are records of the firm (or firms) in that conversation, not personal to you. They are not deleted with your account. They are kept under your firm's retention settings, and a legal hold on a matter keeps its records for as long as the hold lasts. The same is true of meeting recordings and notes, board items, time entries, and other matter records. To ask about any of these, contact your firm's administrator.

If you are leaving a firm, its administrator can remove you, which ends your access to the firm's rooms. Removal does not delete your account; ask us if you want that as well.

Deleting only some of your data

You can ask us to delete some of your data without closing your account, for example your lawyer card or your Content Vault items. You can also delete much of it yourself in the app: Brain Dump notes and Content Vault items each have a Delete action, and you can delete messages you sent if your firm allows it and the matter is not under a legal hold.

How long it takes

We complete deletion requests within 30 days of confirming them.
